Walls Of Paradise Know When

Walls Of Paradise Know When

How many dreams will little children find
between the laughing waves of the mute sea?
When will the darkness between old fruit trees
open our hearts to rain that never falls?
Why does the grave that loves our empty skulls
want to know my true name I hide in snow?
How will the walls of paradise know when
I walk beyond the emptiness of light?

How many stories will the door knobs tell
before we come back from the grocery store?
If every sparkle of the blue sky fades
how will we thank the stars for their salt tears?
What bodies will we wear to dance in rain
when every flower wilts from ticking clocks?
How will the walls of paradise know when
I leap into the vast abyss of truth?

Where did the full moon leave its bleeding heart
for children without eyes to build airplanes?
If the color blue runs out with what wing
will we construct the cathedral of bread?
Where can the wizard live who kisses trees
because the honey bees are his offspring?
How will the walls of paradise know when
I have died and forget to ask the time?

Where will the naked rose dance in moonlight
when she forgets her dress down by the sea?
Why do trees reveal the splendor of truth
in how they curl roots to heart of the world?
What can be sadder in the world of faith
than the car who weeps in the Autumn rain?
How will the walls of paradise know when
I build new church for nonexistent God?

Does smoke from houses in the sparkling snow
talk with clouds about love in empty rooms?
Will sirens sing to sailing boats who search
strange nameless lands for trees that bear no fruit?
How many purses lost in fields of flowers
drink drew drops to assuage their broken hearts?
How will the walls of paradise know when
I guard the well that commits suicide?

How fast do orange trees grow from asphalt lots
before the rabbit sings spells to the moon?
How does the crown of the last senile king
with so many holes fly over highways?
Why do clouds that steal human happiness
cry more than waterfalls who know our names?
How will the walls of paradise know when
I weave shadow of the eclipse into wings?

Why does the chalk board of the empty school
teach geography of death to white crows?
What happens to the eagle of the sun
late for dance lessons on the pyramid?
Do tears of lovers who forgot their names
wait for laughter in the high mountain lake?
How will the walls of paradise know when
I follow the river to my first home?

When will I discover the river valley
where my first mother taught me how to sing?
How will volcanoes see the butterfly
who transforms fire into transparent faith?
Where do sunbeams go when I close my eyes
except the pool who becomes girl I love?
How will the walls of paradise know when
I eat scarlet tears of the thundercloud?

If sorrow keeps the tears I never weep
how will I know taste of infinity?
When the raven carves words on barks of trees
who will understand algebra of love?
Though I write songs with invisible ink
who can read them on the Spring equinox?
How will the walls of paradise know when
I make oranges from hearts of crocodiles?

Why does the meadow of the laughing bones
grieve for the lake when the apple trees bloom?
Who will shout with delight on empty street
when the color yellow kisses their eyes?
Where is the center of the universe
where the First Flash calculates the White Whole?
How will the walls of paradise know when
I blossom into idol of my soul?
