So Nature Swallows Me

So Nature Swallows Me

Now that my body is fragile and weak,
and long-lost memories flash across my eyes
to blind my perceptions with aching hope,
I must walk outside busy city maze
to wander mute in signless wilderness
so nature swallows me in timeless sea.

Now that I can no longer perform roles
of psychic archetypes in family dramas,
nor prance on stage of canceled social plays,
I must walk outside walls of paradise
to stroll on boundless beach of slanted beams
so nature swallows me in timeless sea.

Now that I changed how people perceive light,
and I can no longer craft with my hands
matter of Earth into food or machines,
I must walk outside labyrinth of masks
to dive in deep indifferent waves of lust
so nature swallows me in timeless sea.

Now that I can no longer work for hire,
earning capital from labor of faith
to contribute to progress of our state,
I must walk outside cathedral of lies
to gaze in bottomless abyss of self
so nature swallows me in timeless sea.
