Creating art from anguish of despair,
such as painting, music, and poetry,
is like digging jewels out of mountain rock
with sharp tools tearing truth out of your heart.
You cannot sit around on grass and wait
for inspiration of sunlight to strike,
because you must face terrors of your mind
by going down into maze of your fears.
You must grasp the sharp tools of craftsmanship
and tear into the darkness of your soul
to find those shining jewels of sacred truth
so pretty in festering slime of your mind.
Wait not for vision of eternal truth
to inspire you to create art from horror,
since you must strike at mute Death every day
to build jeweled church of truth from your rage.
