Brian stands under the tall chestnut tree
and watches men with Confederate flags march
as they shout, "You will not replace us whites.
We will make America great again."
Brian shakes his head in astonishment.
"What a joke. What they really mean is they
want to make America white again.
We defeated the confederate slave-owners
some one hundred and sixty years ago
in civil war to free people from slavery
so why are they marching again today?
Anyone who flies the Confederate flag
is a traitor to the United States
as opponents of our social ideal
that every person is created equal
and deserves the right supported by law
to basic opportunity to live."
Two men stalk up to lurch before his face.
"We heard you call us traitors to our country.
You are the traitor, you communist pig,
letting those evil foreigners invade
our country, so you take back that insult."
Pulling large gun from his jacket, he aims
long pistol then shoots Brian in the head.
