My Social Media Persona

On profile of my social media site
I craft persona behind static mask
as standard character of human type
to hide seething energies of desire
so you look into mirror of my face
and see yourself reflected back at you.
Yet what the mask of my character hides
behind stereotype that confounds your eyes
my sentences of tangled words reveal,
exposing through complex patterns of thought
naked personality of fierce lust
that writhes with Kraken passion in tight verse.
We expose rancid obsessions through words
we express in hope to convince our friends
to give us what we need in straight return
for love we give them with selfless intent,
though we give what we have, not what they need,
so we tangle ourselves with specious contracts.
Though I express my vision of the world
with honest performance to present truth,
which I perceive based on measured observance,
others more dishonest will post fake news
to fuel hatred between opposing groups
with purpose to destabilize our nation.
We cannot blame the social media site
as messenger that connects distant people
when deceivers employ the social media
to foster hatred causing civil strife,
for members of the national government
are responsible for maintaining peace.
Secret agents of foreign governments
use fake accounts to disseminate lies
and spread propaganda to poison minds,
but we should be able to analyze
truth or falsehood of each story we read
based on reason, logic, and common sense.
Too many people with minds stung by fear
are quick to believe every lie they hear
which foreign agents make to stoke their hate,
crafting lies that target their prejudice
to inflame hatred causing civil strife
so they can weaken our nation with conflict.
When we read tales on social media site,
we need to analyze image they present
and judge whether that image reflects truth,
based on structure of things composed from atoms,
or whether agent of some foreign power
deceives our eyes with illusions of death.
We are too quick to believe any tale
that supports favorite ideology
without first researching shape of the world
to determine accuracy of that tale
so we must investigate with clear eyes
true nature of the world where we all live.
We cannot blame the medium for the message
when we believe lies too good to be true
for we are responsible for our own mind,
controlling how we envision the world
by choosing to believe what can be proved
and discover motives behind their lies.
Together we will discover the truth
by measuring the terrain of land and soul
so we can trust the facts we can perceive,
assembling pieces of the puzzle straight
where each belongs in paradigm we make
based on the real world, not wild fantasies.
Look through the persona I present here,
and see the same complex vision of truth
in my mind that you design in your own
for all our actions are based on two factors,
hunger to sustain our body and mind,
and love to procreate children of truth.
