Poets Are Liars

Some ancient Greek philosopher once wrote
poets are liars for they can write words
that conjure illusions in eyes of readers
which reflect not real truth about the world.
How correct he was about lies of poets
for the biggest lie of all was the tale
that some supernatural god in the sky
created humans and controls our fates.
Though we discarded the lies of old myths
in the bright age of the enlightenment
yet poets make movies about superheroes
and magicians to entertain the crowd.
I want no stories except those that tell
truth about the nature of human beings
in relation to this great ball of dirt
that spirals spinning through the empty void.
