House Of Constant Laughter

House Of Constant Laughter

The house of constant laughter on the hill
keeps nameless ghosts with mirror eyes who sing
that the path to revolution of truth
must include plain riddle of the dead tree
since the twin girls want me to come and play
chase in the labyrinth of vibrating skulls
far beyond the garden walls to the grove
of writhing trees where they want to kiss me.

The house of constant laughter with twelve doors
welcomes wanderers to its secret rooms
where they can stay safe long after they die,
performing role assigned by the blind king
who insists every day when we eat lunch
that we are not animals in some zoo
so we assemble puzzle with no picture
while the twin girls play violin on my heart.

The house of constant laughter with one hearth
warms aching hearts frozen from joyless fear
with tales about heroes who never lived
hidden in the skulls in front of each book
which the twin girls show me and smile gold eyes
to zap my hearth with lightning of true love
however far I wander to my room
when they hold my hands and lead me nowhere.

The house of constant laughter without roof
embraces restless wind from mountain cave
each time twin girls appear before I wake
to show me where the white horse waits content
and gives me apples so I can feed love
then take them riding on the wind-blown hill
where each girl shows me serpent egg she found
with baby dragons that bear my real face.

The house of constant laughter by the lake
explains the riddle of the burning egg
with every swelling creak of its stone walls
so I still walk its endless halls of light
to follow shadows of the twin girls far
enough into its ever-changing rooms
where they reveal the book of ancient truths
that I never knew I was searching for.

The house of constant laughter I designed
blooms outward from quick spiral of my heart
deeper than the well where water sings tunes
translated by the twin girls in white gowns
who skip together in the dining room
where ghosts with faces of ancestors wait
to tell me why I am no one but me
so they sit on my lap and kiss my cheek.

The house of constant laughter with nine trees
exploding from seeds of forgotten books
remembers why I always must return
to touch the silver pitcher by the hearth
and hum the tune their violins forgot
till the twin girls appear from swirling mist
to ask me if I know why the moon weeps
then take my eyeballs glowing in their hands.

The house of constant laughter in the sea
nurtures reincarnation of my body
molded from pale mud of the river shore
by the twin girls who make the sponge my brain
so I can soak strange tears from broken hearts
and stand on stage before the jeering crowd
to chant weird prophecy in riddling verse
that would reveal the calculated truth.

The house of constant laughter blazing bright
from candles in hearts of ten million ghosts
calls my name over twenty thousand miles
so the twin girls weave new wings from despair
for me to fly swooping among light clouds
till I can slip the surly bonds of Earth
and dance the skies on laughter-silvered wings
to become God of my own consciousness.

The house of constant laughter replicates
architecture of every fallen house
where I once lived in journey of my life
to find the secret thoughts I left behind
carved on blank walls no address can pinpoint
so the twin girls can read my naked dreams
and create new character for my soul
who performs my riddles on stage of fame.

The house of constant laughter in my mind
contains the ghost of every human being
who was ever born from the womb of mother
so I sit in the library alone
and write their stories in the book of deeds
or else they will vanish in eyeless wind
because the twin girls reach their healing hands
into my breast to be my beating heart.

The house of constant laughter in their eyes
hides the faces of strange people I love
so I forget their names and why they lived
when the twin girls hold my hands to explain
why I belong to them beyond all time
then play the violin of my aching heart
which helps me sing the epic tale I dream
for every soul who dreams through its locked door.
