This is no country for the weak or poor
for the strong and rich who obtain control,
based on the legacy of family wealth,
rig the old system of electoral votes
by gerrymandering districts in their favor
to gain positions of authority
where they pass new laws to rewrite the rules
that keep them and their descendants in power.

The two-bit mafia thug, who gained control
by getting elected as president
through collusion with our state enemy,
and smearing candidates as criminals,
forces laws to control the hungry poor
by defunding education and healthcare,
so corporate kings can rule our global empire
with whole nations of ignorant wage slaves.

No more need we sail to Byzantium
for the corrupt empire of wealthy kings
now sprouts in marble halls of Washington
where aged men in business suits and ties
suck blood from working men who worship them
as high priests of the Capitalist Church
allowing corporate kings to exploit people
who slave to pay for afterlife in Heaven.

Sailing from Byzantium, to escape
empire of money that controls the world,
we search in vain for unspoiled paradise
where no greedy explorers have yet gone
to exploit natural resources of Earth
so masters of the world in Wall Street Towers
can game the stock market to get rich quick
till wealth vanishes as the empire falls.
