We sail fragile boat across swirling sea,
escaping gangs of fascist greedy men
to seek prosperous land where we can live free
and work hard for our own personal gain.
We leave lush Africa, our ancient home,
seeking asylum on free coast of Greece,
as we wonder when we will cease to roam
to escape brutal war and live in peace.
Why is our homeland fragmented by war
between factions of men greedy for power
who suppress our freedom to keep us poor
so we must slave to eat, unlike the flower?
Though we live exiled in your fertile land
we hope to return to our family home
and build new system with creative hand
where everyone thrives in fair social game.
