Freedom rings over streets of Teheran
when millions gather at Azadi Tower
to fight tyranny for their right to vote
though bullets howl from guns of fear.
I hear you sing clear, Neda, voice of truth,
when you dance free in streets of Teheran.
Cry Allahu Akbar from roofs of Teheran
when millions gather in Mazda sunlight
to declare their right to vote for freedom
for men and women to pursue their dreams.
I hear you sing sweet, Neda, voice of truth,
when you pray free on roofs of Teheran.
Sorrow wails from mothers of Teheran
and fathers weep for children who fall
from bullets of tyrants fired from hate
that pierces hearts of all seeking freedom.
I hear you sing love, Neda, voice of truth,
when you cry with mothers of Teheran.
Bullet of tyranny pierces her breast
when Neda walks dark streets in protest
and she falls clutching her heart in pain,
eyes staring surprised at bleeding skies.
I hear no song now, Neda, voice of truth,
when you are martyred on streets of Teheran.
Sing at red dawn in streets of Teheran
when millions gather at Azadi Tower
to fight tyranny for freedom to live,
and listen to voice of Neda Soltani.
I hear you sing again, Neda, voice of truth,
when you dream in arms of Teheran.
