Blank Page Of Thought

Blank Page Of Thought

When you are faced with the blank page of thought,
yield to impulse to say what you desire
for there is no perfect sentence of words
that depict vast complexity of life
which spirals into galaxies of worlds
from atoms tangled in matrix of dreams.

There is only spell you need to express
memories of events you experience
that your brain records when you wake from dream
as you breathe spirit of conceptual air
to narrate weird state of reality
at this hour you perceive it with clear truth.

It is the nature of this flowing world
that we are fragile chemical machines
who navigate strange landscape of desire
in endless search for nutritional fruit
which animates our bodies with compassion,
then we sing visions about how we feel.

Translating process of experience
to record effects from cause of our actions
composes program of textual expression
we employ to encode wisdom we learn,
converting cultural concepts into memes
that we pass to children we educate.

So when you wake from dream of hungry hope
at dawning light of wild epiphany
on shifting sands of the blank ocean shore,
heart pulsing with resurgent tides of fear,
breathe in deep cosmic spirit of weird truth
and sing that vision glowing in your eyes.

Time generates our bodies from dark light
at hydrothermal vents of ecstasy,
so we rise from mute womb of Mother Sea
to crawl fresh-water rivers to Dream Cave
where we climb Tree of Knowledge with desire
to eat sweet fruit of wisdom from the sun.

From there we journey to the Promised Land,
evolving through bodies mother to child,
fish to lizard to mouse to cat to ape
to wingless angel eager to transcend
limiting scope of what our eyes perceive
when we share stories of experience.

When you gaze aching at blank page of thought
and seek to write sentence of perfect words,
trust bright instinct of your heart to express
conceptual truth glowing in your eyes now,
for what you have to say this radiant hour
is what you need to sing before you die.
