Puzzles Of Atomic Fame

Puzzles Of Atomic Fame

If about to fall in love with the sea,
unwind your brain in spools of mirror eyes
to prove fake laughter causes heart disease,
then spin with dizzy joy in fractured sky
because our souls are temporary flames,
contrived by puzzles of atomic fame.

Almost about to unlearn arrogance
with frantic silence bound by holy books,
I float in seething pool of innocence
across the multiverse of crystal rooks
where angels without eyes of rainbow thoughts
manipulate our bodies as flesh robots.

No chance to live this fleeting life again,
I walk bleak desert of New Mexico
to find the lyre of Mercury in pain
so I can stand with pride on portico
before abandoned fane of Jupiter
to play new social role of Lucifer.

While bearing light of truth with trembling hand
in lamp Diogenes lost in dark woods,
I walk vast maze of cities in our land
to repaint marble idols of dead gods
whose ghosts are trapped in fairy tales we read
to children programmed to ignore their need.

Since all things exist in material form,
people are fooled to think the soul is real,
but consciousness is glow of chemicals
that flash in neural net of molecules,
bright as the gleam in frail lightbulb of glass
that winks to nothing when the structure fails.

I float on waves of sorrow cleansed by joy
with mute calm on the Gulf of Mexico,
then swim with quick dolphin of Arion
whose song encourages me to perform well
my sacred role as Bearer of the Light
who preaches one world faith of mutual peace.

Through pines on shores of Lake Ontario
I walk toward glowing cloud of ancient truth
that gleams with secret of bold confidence
in timeless wisdom of Astaria
whose star-bright eyes reveal our new world view
based on equal rights in Zarathia.

Strange visions blind my eyes with hopeless hope
while I float mute in feverish swirl of dreams
that warring nations of the Earth unite
in mission to support personal rights
based on Liberty and justice for all,
then I wake in haze of our modern world.

  1. Orpheus lies in soft grass by the River Styx as he coughs while attempting to recover from a bout of bronchitis so he can return to work mapping the history of human fame.
