Scarlet Dragon Egg © Surazeus 2024 11 09 While searching for the secret of true love, Ophelia finds the scarlet dragon egg bright as the smooth ruby her mother hides, so she carries it safe inside her heart to nurture holy spirit of the Earth, and hums softly as she sews baby clothes. Gasping from agony of sudden pain, Ophelia rides taxi to the hospital where she half-crawls to emergency room, and winces at searing pain in her womb as the doctor examines with concern problem her fetus must to suffering from. Writhing in anguish on the wrinkled bed, Ophelia cries from terror of her shock when the doctor explains with trembling voice there is some problems with her pregnancy, so she needs to abort the baby soon, but he cannot do anything to help. Because abortions are against the law, I would be arrested and charged with crime for committing egregious felony against hard moral values of the state, so though I am eager to save your life I cannot act against that unjust law. Half-stumbling down sterile hospital hall, Ophelia leans against clean polished wall and groans from agony of searing pain, then rides bus across town in dreary rain to collapse on emergency room floor where her soul drains away in pool of blood. Staring blindly into blank nothingness, Ophelia curls and shakes on shining floor, body enclosed in scarlet dragon egg of heart-broken sorrow as she attempts to pray to Jesus in the sky for help, but sinks into deep silent gloom of death. Dressed in her favorite outfit that she wore every Sunday for services at church, Ophelia holds red Bible in her hands as she lies peacefully in clean white coffin, seeming to smile as she holds in her arms ghost of her child people see through their tears. Strolling across Bridge of Forgetfulness, Ophelia bears the scarlet dragon egg, bright as the smooth ruby her mother lost, till she arrives in lush Asphodel Meadows where her unborn daughter in frilly dress runs into her arms with fairy-wild laugh.

Orpheus plays lyre of Mercury while Ophelia and their daughter Onatah giggle as they play chase in Asphodel Meadows among the fruit trees and honey bees.
