Throwing all her broken dreams in the trash,
Karen walks in cold bitter wind of dawn
where she plans to invent new kind of cash
people can use to return what is gone,
but the sycamore tree laughs at her plan,
so she gets through life the best that she can.

Still walking somewhere she has never been,
Karen talks to crows frozen in dead trees
who tell her lost secrets for how to win
game of life by stealing socialist keys
that open castle doors where vampires wait
for her to accept the afterlife bait.

Attempting to close distance of desire
between her and the man with crippled hands,
Karen tries to join the heavenly choir
but the priest sends her to desolate lands
where she preaches the gospel to mad wolves
till her blind faith in the divine dissolves.

Still talking to the werewolf in blue suit
who won the election to parliament,
Karen scares the dead when she plays the flute
because she can no longer pay the rent,
but her new paintings in the gallery
are enough to pay God his salary.

Searching foul swamplands for the holy toad,
Karen swings with Tarzan on vine of faith,
but gets lost somewhere on the desert road
where she asks for help from the star-eyed wraith,
but something snaps inside her flashing brain
so she dances wildly in acid rain.

Knowing the world order that has prevailed
for the past eighty years will soon collapse,
Karen plots route the Titanic once sailed
to prophesy state of psychic relapse
when dictators try to control their states,
oblivious to their coming tragic fates.

Still hungry for stable relationships
with strangers she meets on the internet,
Karen films herself giving lifestyle tips
for those like her who worship Baphomet,
till video service that presents her game
is banned by Big Brother who steals her name.

Desperate to escape prison of her home,
trapped by her terror of the outside world,
Karen walks out front door of time to roam
lonely signless road with the cosmic herald
who leads revolution to the White House
where she hosts parties as his honest spouse.

  1. Orpheus gives Karen a ride to New York City where she hangs out at the Cafe Wha to play folk music then sleeps homeless under the Brooklyn Bridge.
