In our search for beauty to generate 
new bodies of flesh from spirit of hope, 
we hear voice of Diotima explain 
progress of passion to honest respect 
when we fuel flame of love as lamp of truth 
that guides our quest beyond darkness of faith. 

Fear leaves us stranded on the signless road 
that we blaze with our feet in woods of fate, 
yet resource we acquire from stores of hope 
provides material for our crafting hands 
to transform wisdom to practical deeds 
so we create treasure from poverty. 

If I happen to follow the wrong god 
home to misty Wonderland by the sea, 
I will retreat along the path I blazed 
to find the star that calculates my fate 
because enormous spheres of burning gas 
far away know I need light to give love. 

Each pattern of behavior that provides 
guidance for how I perform my own life 
was designed by people who lived and died 
long before I appear in dream of time, 
so I feel ghostly threads of their performance 
shimmer through fragile web of energy. 

When parade of our mutual life gets lost 
in looming darkness of social conflict, 
I hold high lamp of liberty with hope 
to find my own way in the blasting storm 
by sending signals in riddles of truth 
to indicate our location in doom. 

Though darkness of eternity is deep, 
which looms in storm clouds over our vast land 
to shroud criminal deeds of angry men 
with sanctioned veil of official contempt, 
we shine with loving respect for all life 
as light in lamp that Diogenes made. 

Brave voice of Diotima echoes clear 
through maze of shattered idols where we wait 
for Justice to assert bold principles 
which activates our strong collective force 
to oppose tyranny of greedy men 
in fight against their exploitative crimes. 

Though fate seems random in how we all end, 
our choices in moments of intense hope 
design framework of fortune we contest, 
so we attend with generous gifts of faith 
strict requirements of blind chemical laws 
to shine in darkness with light of our love.
