With You Beside Me © Surazeus 2025 04 13 With you beside me on the road of life, companions sharing meals on river shores, we will not wander lost in Nowhere Land because we know the secret names we share as we help each other no matter what happens to us in the bleak wilderness. With you beside me in Garden of Eden, soul mates bound with affectionate respect, we know we will be safe in hills of demons because together in both sun and rain we experience harsh despair and sweet joy while searching for the Way to Wonderland. With you beside me at the Tree of Life, clever thieves swiping sweet apples of knowledge from the Serpent King on skull pyramid, we will escape prison of paradise enclosed by stone walls of paranoid fear on our vain quest to find the Promised Land. With you beside me on the windy prairie, sly explorers where the buffalo roam, we will express heart-encouraging words though dark thunderclouds darken our clear skies when the Storm God attacks our fragile souls as we shelter in deep Cave of Illusions. With you beside me as we roam and ramble, fellow owners of the land of our birth, we follow footsteps of our dead ancestors to sing, "This land was made for you and me," till strangers invade with weapons of death who drive us to wander in the waste land. With you beside me on the ribbon highway, lonely travelers in the golden valley, we map the world under the endless skyway to break signs that say Private Property, and stroll in fields where immigrants pick crops, then feast together on Thanksgiving Day. With you beside me in land of the brave, courageous patriots in band of brothers, we fight together against tyranny to support elective democracy where everyone lives with justice for all under the Star-Spangled Banner of Freedom. With you beside me in land of the free, freedom-fighters across the fruited plain, we all confirm our souls in self-control through exercise of liberty in law, to build from ruins of America new United States of Zarathia.

Orpheus wanders across the land from sea to shining sea and plays folk songs on guitar for farm workers who gather at night around bonfires of liberty.
