butterflies and bees attend needs of flowers 
to transform dirt and rain into fine pollen 
that bloom into nutritious fruit of souls 
so Kathy at the import business office 
records transactions in the book of ghosts. 

Riding crowded bus across the glass bridge 
with faceless people to bright offices, 
Kathy ponders how alligators live 
alone in dreary swamps of Florida 
while robots and wizards play games of chess 
that manage how stock markets rise and fall. 

Analyzing purchase data in spreadsheets 
that order transactions of sales receipts, 
Kathy calculates balance of income 
in fraught relation to expenditures 
concerning profits from foreign imports 
that cycle products from factories to stores. 

Caressing petals of the scarlet rose 
with admiration of the pious nun, 
Kathy considers checks and balances 
designed to mitigate excessive risk 
with careful observation based on flow 
of snow-fed rivers tumbling to the sea. 

Our world commercial enterprise is built 
on focused people who manipulate 
material structures with creative hands, 
transforming dirt composed of minerals 
into food, clothes, vehicles, and machines 
that form infrastructure of our stage. 

Running in rainstorm to the hospital 
past hundreds of cars stalled in traffic jams, 
Kathy finds wizard of fiscology 
dying in bed from sudden heart attack, 
so she holds his hand and vows to maintain 
secure process of financial transactions. 

Head swollen with importance of his role, 
the stock broker in pinstripe business suit 
declares prophets of the pyramid scheme 
dispense fake profits to all who invest, 
but Kathy ignores trickery of his scam 
and maintains focus on financing work. 

Shocked she got sucked in soap opera of greed 
enforced by thief wearing businessman mask, 
Kathy throws fraudulent financial reports 
out office window to pave rain-wet streets 
with miscalculations of human greed, 
then repairs damage of fiscologists.
