Harmonious Song Of Faith

Harmonious Song Of Faith

Sand castles of toppled empires dissolve
to swirling fragments of conceptual hopes
that dissipate in brutal winds of time
which shatter colossal idols of men
who dare bestride the narrow world of faith
with arrogant disdain for common folk.

When towering trees of haughty disdain,
that long overshadow valleys of hope,
are cracked by revolutionary storms
and fall from elevated thrones of power,
young ambitious trees spring forth with fierce hope
to assume status of authority.

Observing human interaction games,
while perched as watching eye on pyramid
of justice, I ponder why human tribes
always require one charismatic man
to organize chaos of human will,
assigning each soul their productive role.

Acquiring special process of one skill
through repetitious actions of creation,
I focus attention of my free will
on performing my part in social game
as crucial function of constructive play
in our global food-production machine.

Extracting matter from heart of the Earth,
I transform compositions of swift atoms
from minerals to functioning machines
to support grand vision of the state boss
who orchestrates separate actions of work
so we perform harmonious song of faith.

Together we create empire of faith
based on conceptual riddles of desire
to organize farms, factories, and markets
in well-connected supply chain of need,
transforming dirt into food we consume
so our children can grow before we die.

Accelerating progress of concern
fuels faster transformation of our state
along high exponential curves of change
from productive farms to conquering kingdom
when we assimilate under one law
conflicting nations into corporate empire.

Young boy who dreams of controlling the world
builds castles of sand on the sunlit beach,
then shouts at the sea when the tide rolls in
and cries when waves of change destroy his work,
then kneels before wise goddess on the moon
who gives him apple seeds to start again.

  1. Orpheus sings ballad of the organized man about how Zeus manages farms and factories and markets as he constructs state institutions that will function after his death.
