Butterfly Wings Of Faith © Surazeus 2025 10 02 With thoughtless disregard for how light bends the water-smoothed river stone of my heart spreads delicate butterfly wings of faith to flutter harmlessly about the room where people desperately pray against doom that lurks as shadows in their dreaming minds. The young man with old guitar in his hand walks along the cement sidewalk of time in search for the best spot in the dream maze to sing his heart-felt prophecies of fate with vain hope that his words of revelation will wake lost people of the fractured nation. Cars glide by in sunlight of busyness with piston engines of magical flight that roar louder than his Cassandra voice so no one knows they have to make the choice for siding with the disenfranchised poor who protest when the government shuts down. Eager to vote for the eccentric clown who promises wealth he cannot deliver, millions of people in long winding line wait mutely beneath the collapsing sky, but no one thinks to ask their dead god why they must go blind to play the bold believer. Regret still motivates our social games when we assemble at amusement parks to buy and sell theologies of power in vain attempts to redesign our names derived from frantic spells of meadowlarks who worship nothing but the silent flower. Yet just around the corner of the church the man of wealth and taste in slick black suit buys votes from legislators with cold cash to pass laws favorable for his program exploiting labor of the common man who wanders listlessly in streets of trash. Exposing ills of our society corrupted by corporate power of greed, the prancing jester on the moon-lit stage mocks senators with ocean-leaping yachts who send assassins with rifles of rage to destroy the Statue of Liberty. Despite our earnest hope that truth prevails supporting justice based on equal rights, we always lose the chess game played by Death who sends wise Lucifer with Lamp of Truth to lead lost refugees from civil wars safe to the pyramid where Ishtar sings.
