My private definition of poetry 
is metrical verse of words that inform 
singable lyrics pregnant with meaning 
which reflect concepts in succeeding lines 
to calculate through parallel thought rhymes 
cause and effect which conjures dream of life. 

Each word depicts one conceptual idea 
about objects, actions, and qualities, 
that, when agglutinated in verse lines, 
become pregnant with meaning in new whole, 
so black and cat becomes Black Cat of Fear 
through alchemy of transformative song. 

Each line of words that is pregnant with meaning 
conjures complete concept our minds can see, 
so each succeeding line may rhyme its thought 
by depicting that same thought in new words, 
the opposite thought in conflicting words, 
or expansion of whole thought in weird words. 

The poet makes new meaning to describe 
complex ontology defining truth 
by organizing words in metric lines 
that form stanzas of conceptual expression 
through parallel gradation of thought rhymes 
which conjures virtual world with coded spells.
